Fit

Over the life of this blog, fit will play an integral part in the discussion of why clothes look good. The fit of one's clothing is the single most important aspect to dressing well, and should be your first consideration when buying clothes. Always ask yourself; "Does this fit? Why? Why not? What would make it fit better?".

The forthcoming articles will examine the minutiae of fit in a level of detail akin to that of a Hubble Space Telescope photograph!

So, the first lesson in fit (a mere baby step in our journey to dress better); categorise yourself! I'm not usually one for putting labels on people, but in this case it is useful. So without further adieu:

Are you:

1) Tall (6' or over)
2) Avearge (5'9" - 5'11")
3) Short (5'8" or less)

Are you:

1) Fat
2) Average
3) Skinny

Is your face:

1) Round
2) Oval
3) Square (Square jaw line)
4) Triangular/Diamond (pronounced cheekbones and a narrow, pointed chin)
5) Oblong/Rectangular (long with a "U" shaped jaw line)

Is your neck:

1) Long
2) Average
3) Short

While I'm sure people will debate what is average height etc it's important to realise this is just a guidline. You should be honest with yourself on all three in order to get the best results with the fit of your clothes. Once you have done this you will be able to use future posts to help you decide what is most applicable to yourself, and why certain clothes may or may not suit you.
